Awazen Medical Center Gynecology Department offers several surgical therapies to treat common reproductive diseases and symptoms.
If you are suffering from abnormal or excessive bleeding, our doctors can find, diagnose, and treat any gynecological issues using hysteroscopy. Hysteroscopy uses a hysteroscope, which is a slim tube that lights up and is inserted into the vagina in order to examine the uterus and cervix. During operative hysteroscopy, the surgeon will use the tube in tandem with other small instruments to remove polyps, fibroids, adhesions, and other issues.
Women opt for a hysterectomy in order to solve a wide range of problems, including endometriosis, abnormal bleeding, adenomyosis (also known as the thickening of the uterus), painful fibroids, and uterine, cervical, or ovarian cancer. It is usually seen as a last-resort procedure when all over treatments have been unsuccessful. During a supracervial or subtotal hysterectomy, your doctor will remove the upper part of the uterus, whereas a total hysterectomy removes the entire uterus and cervix. In rare cases where cancer is present, a radical hysterectomy is performed, removing the uterus, tissue around the uterus, the cervix, and the top part of the vagina as well.
In cases of heavy bleeding or other uterine conditions, dilation and curettage clears the uterine lining using small instruments for either cutting or suction.
